July's Five0Two | Matt Dobson

Matt Dobson | Five0Two Posted by Jadmin @ 9:53 AM July 17, 2008

This month's Five0Two artwork is by none other than createlouisville.com's Matt Dobson.

Matt is currently the Graphics Coordinator for Actors Theatre. He was the co-owner of the Butcher Block art gallery and is currently a co-producer of The Late Seating at Actors Theatre, a series of late night events showcasing local performance, art, and music. Outside of that Matt continues to paint, make prints, and design posters or anything else he can get his hands on.

Inspiration02 - Nike

Nike Posted by Dadmin @ 9:45 AM July 16, 2008

Another installment to get everyone inspired. Pulled from Motionographer.

Check out the spot here.

Directed internally by 3D Supervisor Andrew Hall, A52 created this simple, yet stunning film for Nike Lab via W+K Tokyo.

Reminiscent of some of the early 1stAveMachine "nature documentaries," this whimsical piece possesses that something that keeps it just one small step away from reality.
   Good stuff.

Bejeezus issue 11

Bejeezus 11 Posted by Madmin @ 8:19 PM July 8, 2008

Hillary Harrison started Bejeezus in 1999, it existed for eight issues as an irregularly published cut & paste fanzine. Recently Bejeezus upped the ante to become a full color arts & culture magazine. A huge part of that transition has been the art direction of Jason Pierce aka Mperfect. Issue 11 hits the streets on July 25th. Jason has been kind enough to share a little "sneak-peek" here.

VIA Studio launches robertrich.com

VIA Studio | robertrich.com Posted by Jadmin @ 3:34 PM July 3, 2008

OK then... longtime poster, first time admin. As my first post, unfortunately it's a show off piece by my own firm, VIA Studio. Up for your critical eyebones is a site that we finished a couple months ago, robertrich.com.

Robert Rich is a musician primarily focused in the realms of ambient electronic. He's released over 30 albums in the course of the last 20 years, and is extremely well regarded in his genre. He has recorded for film and television, and as an added bonus makes his own wine, which we've had the honor of tasting on multiple occasions. Robert also lives very close to the Google campus in Mountain View, CA, so we've got a spy for us on what's going on out west.

This site was quite a fun project for us, because not only did it allow us to stretch out creatively for a client, it's also a musician that we adore here at the office. This project encompassed creative design, an audio player, custom discography database, a little search engine optimization, and a whole lotta love.

By the way, my name's Jason. Pleased to meet you. I'm a big fan of the city and honored to be a part of a community that's trying to make design a part of the dialogue here.

New WLKY Weather Page

wlky Posted by Dadmin @ 6:00 AM July 2, 2008

Looking at the weather has never been so exciting. If you haven't seen the commercial yet, here is a glimpse of the new WLKY weather page.

http://www.wlky.com/weather/grid.html

Get your favorite info at the top and configure to your liking. Very similar to iGoogle, which I am a pretty big fan of. The nice thing about Google is your information remains clean. I am not quite sure that is achieved here. Also not quite sure if this is an in house project over at WLKY or if it was outsourced. We will gladly post the info if you know.

New Walmart Logo

Check out this great post on the latest version of the Walmart logo.

Brand New: Less Hyphen, More Burst for Walmart

We have plenty of Walmarts, so it only made sense to show this once I heard the news. The post contains the progression of the Walmart logo over the years, and wow - they've had some interesting styles.
